8/2/13 Friday

6:00-8:00 PM Welcome Reception All Conference Attendees. Light fare will be served. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet other families and socialize.

 

8/3/13 Saturday

Please Note: All 5-12 Year Olds Should Wear Their Conference T-Shirt and Name Tags for all Saturday Events!!!!!

8:00 AM All 5-12 Year Olds Going On the Field Trips Must Be Dropped Off by 8:00 AM 

8:00-8:30 AM Break Children into Groups and Board Buses for Field Trips. Buses Will Leave Promptly at 8:30 AM Children will be broken into groups of 5 by age and gender. Each group of 5 will have a chaperone assigned to them. Children will then board the buses and travel to the Aquarium of the Pacific. 

9:30 AM-1:30 PM Aquarium of the Pacific http://www.aquariumofpacific.org/

Children will explore the indoor and outdoor exhibits at the aquarium in the groups of five they were broken into at the hotel.

*****Lunch will be provided at the Aquarium******

1:30-2:30 PM Board Buses/Travel to the Page Museum at the LaBrea Tar Pits

2:00- 5:30 PM Page Museum/LaBrea Tar Pits http://www.tarpits.org/

Children will stay in the same groups as they were in at the aquarium and will explore the museum as well as the tar pits.

5:30-6:00 PM Board Buses and Travel Back to the Hotel

6:00 PM Parents Pick Up Children

Parents should pick up their children at 6:00PM right after the adult workshops end. 

 

8/4/13 Sunday

8:30 AM Drop Off Children  

8:30-9:30 AM Ask the Experts

Children will be broken into two groups, 5-8 year olds and 9-12 year olds. Marfan syndrome and related disorders experts will do a short, age appropriate presentation on Marfan syndrome and related disorders. Then children will have the opportunity to ask their questions. .

9:30-12:30 PM Vendors at Hotel

Children will be broken into three groups by age (5-7 yr. olds, 8-10 yr. olds, 11-12 yr. olds). Three different activities will be provided, one in each room. Kids will have the opportunity to participate in two to three funactivities on-site at the Loews Hotel. This year’s specific activities arestill being determined. Past years activities have included; theatre arts
programs, improvisation workshops, make your own t-shirt, Build-A Bear Workshop, face painting, balloon animal making workshops, magicians, and more. Activities offered this year during this time period will be similar to these
past activities.

12:30-1:00 PM Lunch  

1:00-2:15 PM Movie TBD/Arts and Crafts

An age appropriate movie will be shown and art supplies will be provided for children to do arts and crafts. 

2:15 PM Children Will Join the Closing Program Where Their Parents Will  Already Be. Parents Should Pick Up Their Children at the End of the Lunch Program.
