Group Leadership Opportunities
Network Group Chair
Local Network Groups provide support and organize education and awareness events, social events, and fundraisers. Long standing, active Network Groups often become an official NMF Chapter with their own board of directors and bank account. Network Group Chairs are responsible for organizing group meetings, creating commitees and task forces to plan and staff events and communicating regularly with group members about local and National initiatives and resources. Support Group Leader
Support Groups meet for emotional support. Meetings are led similiar to a group counseling session. Support Groups can be organized as a function of a Chapter or Network Group or can operate as a stand-alone group. Individual Volunteer Opportunities
Community Support Volunteer
Community Support Contacts provide one-to-one peer support to individuals and family members living with Marfan syndrome or a related disorder in their home area. Awareness Volunteer
There are many ways volunteers can raise awareness of Marfan syndrome and related disorders and save lives. Awareness projects come in all shapes and sizes. Awareness volunteers can commit to a one time/one day project or event, such as staffing an awareness table or passing out flyers, or commit to an ongoing campaign or larger event such as the Adopt-a-School Program or organizing an educational symposium .
