The Marfan Foundation

Know the signs. Fight for victory.

Heartworks St. Louis, which originated in 2009, is hosted by Alan and Rebecca Braverman. Dr. Braverman, Alumni Endowed Professor in Cardiovascular Diseases and Director of the Marfan Syndrome Clinic at Washington University School of Medicine and Barnes-Jewish Hospital, lost his father to Marfan syndrome and has a brother and nephew who are affected by the condition. St. Louis has one of the nation’s largest Marfan syndrome clinics and collaborates with physicians and scientists nationwide on research on Marfan syndrome and related disorders. Over the past five years, Heartworks St. Louis has raised substantial funds to help provide support, awareness, and medical education programs that create a brighter future for people living with Marfan syndrome and related disorders.
